Timely Tech Tip - Pool Interior Matrix Mix

Pool Interior Matrix Mix CANNOT be applied over epoxy paint on a pool interior surface. The epoxy should be removed from the surface using a grinder with a diamond tip blade, or by shotblasting, or by sandblasting the surface. After the epoxy removal, clean the surface with Blue Nitro cleaner and use Clorox bleach to kill any mildew or bacteria previously left on the surface. Always be sure to rinse the surface thoroughly after cleaning.

Want to know more about a "broom finish"?

A "broom finish" can be applied to a PermaCrete skim coat on a horizontal concrete surface. A medium bristle, concrete broom should be used to create the broom finish and should be pulled lightly across the Matrix surface using minimal pressure, because the Matrix application does not have the surface depth of poured concrete. NOTE: The Matrix should be tacky before application of the broom finish. Also, application(s) of Perma•Seal Stain Sealer or Clear Sealer should be used only after the application of the broom finish.
